This is a My First Sony cassette player, model TPM-8000.
The MFS series itself was aimed at children, but this model seems to be designed for an even younger audience, with many features omitted for easier, more intuitive use.
Instead of a volume control knob, the play and volume buttons are combined. The button with the face icon below the speaker acts as both the play button and the volume selection button, with the volume adjustable to three levels (high, medium, and low) based on the face's expression. You can change the volume while playing by pressing the button.
There is no fast-forward function.
Rewind is available, but it only works while the button is held down.
Due to the internal mechanism, frequent use of the rewind button can easily tangle the tape during playback, so it's probably best to think of this as a playback-only player.
There are no headphone jacks or power adapter jacks. It runs on two size-D batteries.
There are minor scratches and dirt commensurate with age.
There are no pets or smokers.
